"Apple picking is so much fun we pick the apples one by one....'

We had a terrific day and Smolak farms today. It was so packed, we couldn't believe it when we pulled in!! This was our third year and it was by far the busiest we have encountered. It didn't deter us from getting lots of apples though.

While we waiting for everyone to gather and buy some of the delicious donuts, Charlie really wanted his picture taken in this cut out. I of course couldn't have a picture of one and not the other.

Once we all gathered we headed for the apples where the kids literally jumped right in and started picking before we even had our bags:

Michelle was the conscientious picker while Charlie simply enjoyed flexing his muscles trying to pull the apples. About halfway through he started laughing every time he would pull and get get one. It was cute.


It should be noted in this last picture he was eating an apple as well. We lost count of how many apples he sampled this year.

To nap or not that is the question

Michelle is in the process of dropping her nap. We try to offer her some quiet time reading or watching one of her shows however on most days this is what happens.



I'm so not ready for her to give up her nap completely. I'm hoping preschool will wear her out three days a week so she will take one, :-). Actually the problem with that is then she is up way later than her brother, hmpf, I'll get this figured out.

Bye Bye Curls

We took Charlie for his first haircut today and all of his curls are gone, :-(

Please disregard Charlie's SEVERE bed head. I can't bring myself to give him a hair cut just yet but I think he is going to have a date with his Dad very soon.

First Day of "new" preschool

Michelle had a great first day of preschool today. She did fabulous. She came right home and went to the calendar looking for "11" since I told her that is when she would go next,I'm guessing it will be just fine. Wahoo.





Wait a minute I wasn't sad this morning but looking at these pictures makes me a little sad. She is growing up SO fast.

She did have to take something with her in her backpack. Here she is showing me...Grampy and Daddy will be so proud.





Of course every first day of preschool must have some playing at the play area. Rumor has it this is often a gathering spot after pick up. I tried to get a picture of Michelle with her cousin Molly but they were so busy this is all I got, LOL.

We almost have a swingset!!

Grampa and Mike worked really hard ALL day on Friday to put the kids new swingset together. Just a little bit more to do when Mike is off again to complete the little house and picnic table. Michelle LOVES it. She swung for close to an hour last night. I think Charlie is going to live inside the house when it is done.
