5 Months Old!!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
For real, is Charlie already 5 months?!?!?!?! We started out the day singing and dancing to Michelle's Captain Zoom birthday CD as Nani is slacking on ordering Charlie his own. This was nice however Michelle became addicted and wanted "more song". Charlie is becoming such a good boy. We can take him out (sometimes) without major fits and he even falls asleep (again sometimes) in his car seat. He tricked me a few months back thinking this and sleeping through the night were going to become regular occurrences. However, in honor of his 5 month birthday he slept from 6:45pm until 5:15am. Well he woke up about 7:45pm but after a few minutes of rocking he was back down. I wish I could say his sister slept all night but seriously why should I get more than 2 hours of uninterrupted sleep, I mean really I think that is asking too much, don't you?

Our Artist

Poor Charlie is not forgotten it is just that he has yet to get himself into trouble like his sister does on a daily basis. His time will come I'm sure!!

After a long morning of seeing Michelle's gastroenterologist, ironically enough, and then lunch and shopping with Nani and "Doe" we came home thinking she would have a nice long nap. Apparently Michelle had other plans as her Dad discovered when he went in to get her up from her "nap". FYI, her diaper is in the other corner!!!!

I suppose the purpose of this blog is to keep everyone up to date on what the children are doing and I have obviously been slacking quite a bit in that department. I am going to try very hard to do weekly posts now that Charlie "appears" to be sleeping through the night.

I absolutely love the age Michelle is at right now. She is so much fun. She says a new word everyday and it makes my day each time. Todays word was "morning". Yesterday's was "bed". **Okay so I started this days ago so we are a little off on the word of the day. Yesterday she looked at a fire on the tv, turned to me and said "hot" and started blowing on the tv, LOL Who knows what today will bring** She talks so much it is truly remarkable. I think the most entertaining words she utters are "hi boy" directed to her brother several times a day. It is hilarious. I'm beginning to think she truly thinks that is his name. She loves to give him kisses and hugs and when he is having tummy time she'll crawl right over and give him a kiss. If he turns away she'll grab his chin and pull it back towards her. Ever since she got her "shoes" they have been an obsession. After she comments on the mess she has made of her room when she wakes up, she'll put her hands in the air and say "mess", she wants "shoe on". If I don't put her shoes on she will find some somewhere.....Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

She knows what she wants and she wants it when she wants it. We've taken to walking up and down the driveway a few times a day but have realized we have to take the dogs out or she'll throw a tantrum at the end because she wants to continue up the street.

Charlie is begining to "round a corner", although he has been a pill the past 2 days we have managed to have get 4 full nights sleep and he has even learned to fall asleep in his carseat!!! Tonight he tried Squash and threw himself a good ole fit when he realized it wasn't the rice cereal he has come to love. He is so talented he even tries to feed himself....Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at PhotobucketPhoto Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Hot Summer's Nights

What a summer it has been!! The past few weeks have been super hectic but of course worth every minute. I can not believe that a few of the foxes have been in town for a week, yet I only managed to see them on the night of Kelly and Joe's Engagement party! Check out the stylish tan Kelly sported for the event.Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
It is always so much fun to have the the girls together, Caitlin you were missed, we hope you are not still suffering from your fall down the stairs.

Keepher gave us a scare and got herself VERY sick. Fortunately for us, after a 5 day stay at the vet, we brought her home and after a few more days she started eating again and is now almost back to her normal self letting Michelle follow her all over and pull her tail. (Don't worry we are always right there "just in case")

The fourth of July was a fun filled day with breakfast, the Centerville parade, back to WLYC, and then for a cookout at Clamshell Cove!!! It was nice to catch up with everyone and to see the kids "play" together. Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

We rounded out the weekend with a day at WLYC. Mike was even able to join us for a full day at the beach. As usual, Charlie spent his time in the swing.

May Days

Life has been a whirlwind of activity around this house. We had early intervention out on Tuesday for an evaluation of Charlie's leg tremors and Michelle's lack of walking. (It should be noted we aren't concerned about Michelle's walking as I did not walk until 2) As children do, Michelle took 3 steps the evening after EI left. She is still not walking but does enjoy walking to Mom or Dad from the couch. She prefers to hold a finger but will take a step or two before going to her knees out of fear. Her other new passion is bubbles. We must find a bubble maker ASAP. I have learned she is entering the toddler stage as the other day I told her we had to put the bubbles away and could do them when Daddy got home. Well, when he arrived home about an hour later she started saying "Dada, bubble" and crawled right over to them. I guess is is putting stuff together now and I must be careful :-).

Charlie is getting so big already. He is sleeping better, although last night was up at 3am and did not want to go back to bed. He is smiling a lot now, except when I have the camera in front of him. We're working on a good picture though.

Sears Portrait Session Gone Haywire!

Even the best laid plans.....

Last Wednesday we had an appointment for Charlie and Michelle to get their picture taken at Sears. The appointment was made so both Mike and I could go. We arrived early to prepare Charlie for his first photo session with a bottle. It was chaotic but we were just about to walk back for our pictures when Mike recieved a call out, this is my life. The following photos are what we wound up with when we returned after bringing him to the station......

Here Here to the Pack n Play Gods

Sometimes one must sacrifice to achieve their goals, :-). Yesterday afternoon I decided my daily shower was not as crucial as some sleep and opted to put the bassinet portion on the Pack n Play thus eliminating Michelle's upstairs play area. Well, the results were a dream, literally, I finally had a dream after 7 weeks. Charlie slept in 2 hour increments all night long!!! Now of course this could just be a trick, but he is up there right now sleeping again. I might actually get some housework done, nah, who am I kidding, I used the time yesterday to play with Michelle because her Dad has been getting to do all the fun stuff with her lately and I felt as though I was neglecting her.
